So I'm currently watching Start Trek DS9, and I'm on "The Hands of God."

So, I see O'Brian disable a power conduit using the computer, and climb into a duct to find some workman evaporated while working there. Do they seriously not have lockout-tagout in the 24th century?

I don't recall that specific episode, but one general theme in the series is that the Cardassians don't care much about worker safety, and DS9 is an old Cardassian station.

As an o&g worker lockout tagout has been smashed into my brain for years. They take that shit really seriously. I've heard tales of someone driving 500 miles home for the holidays and having to turn around and go back because they forgot their lock.
