Are we cancelling people for associating with their friends now? He defended him before the worst of the tweets surfaced. Would any of you do differently if it was your friend?

Oh, no, don't worry i'm not trying to cancel anyone; i genuinely don't care about twitter drama between strangers on the other side of the world. I just think saying "On our show he's always the pro-Israel one!" and thinking that automatically prevents anti-semitism is funny and also peak :LIB:

Yeah definitely a knee jerk cringe take. He’s cornered and caught off guard about his friend, this defense was also before the worst tweets came up. He’s gone radio silent so I assume he’s working this out and will come back with a statement. Omnibus is done I think.

      would you do differently?

      uhhh, yes?

like, you dont need to publically drag your friend, but if your friend is being tied to weird racist shit maybe dont publically defend them either if you dont want to get slapped with the same brush.

maybe instead be like "hey @friendlyfriendo wtf is up with this?" and have a little chat about it next time you bring the spouse and kids over for a bbq

Yeah that was the first to come up and the first couple were over the top obvious satire.

Once the n-words and rape jokes came up Ken stopped tweeting. Probably doing damage control behind the scenes

yeah whatever. youre downbearing me for saying i would have done differently, if my friend was credibly accused of racism, by simply not being racist... so, fuck off :LIB:

Again, at the point of his tweets there were no accusations of racism or racist tweets yet unearthed.

Once those came up Ken never said anything.

Are you able to grasp the concept of linear time?

again at this point of his tweets he was asked about antisemetism and chose to be a dumbass that equates anti-israel with antisemitism.

are you able to grasp that?

Yeah and he realized what he said was dumb and he was starting to post cringe, apologized, and logged off

yeah and good for him. you then asked what people would do differently and i answered.

let me rephrase the answer for you:

if my friend were making tweets about abusing his daughter, i would not jump to his public defense, like an absolute dumpster fire of a human

Except Ken knows his friends relationship with his daughter, and he knows his friends propensity to tell exaggerated, stupid stories. There were people on Twitter contacting CPS and calling bean dad a child abuser, which is pretty over the top for his stupid story. I don’t think it’s out of line to mention something in their defense if that’s all it was, but John had to go and be an edgy teenage-brained bigot. Once this became apparent, Ken logged out.

neat. and were i his friend i would not have jumped to his defense, because cps doesnt just break down doors and seize kids. theres nothing to come to the defense of or for if you know hes not a shitbag.

im not out to "cancel" either of these two, but holy fuck does the defense getting thrown up around them make me think maybe yall all should be

Guilt keeps jumping to another step of association. First it’s bean dad who is heretical. Then it’s his friends. Then it’s anyone who defends his friends. Then it’s their friends.

Cancel the whole planet and keep that guilt by association comin baby

It’s not a “slippery slope”. You are right in front of me Cancelling me for defending Ken who is canceled because he defended the bean dad.

You’re already down the slope. Can’t wait for you to cancel any user who comes to my defense, or to their defense. Or to that persons defense
