    The surgery should not be something reserved for those who can give the money. Like other necessary health care of should be freely available.

      for the record, i am never going to forget the extreme suffering insurance executives have inflicted upon me over the past decade. never. that shit is seared into my soul. i could become a billionaire and i would never forget the pure unadulterated anger

        Even by capitalist standards the US healthcare system is evil. I can't imagine how horrible it must be to depend on these corporate death panels for your healthcare.

        My country is as capitalist as any but at least we have national health insurance that covers most needs. Trans healthcare is far from perfect here but at least transgender people get subsidised prices for their prescriptions and some surgery is covered.

          the big issue for trans people here is the surgeries and ongoing costs. the best thing about american trans healthcare which should be standard everywhere is you can get hrt within a week no questions asked (other than your credit card #). saved my life. barring hrt through nonsensical bullshit kills people, its not like a cis person just casually demands hrt, only trans people get on it after a huge amount of deliberation.

          argentina has recently moved in that direction though, so i am really excited to hear about people that get into trans health there recently. they have the public health and the quick wait times on hrt.
