I don't know if this adds to the conversation, but want to give everyone a heads up, CBD oil can go bad. I think it oxidizes and water can get in and cause mold growth. I know because I had a CBD tincture in my desk drawer that I forgot about for like a year. Decided I'd use it and vomited as soon as I put it on my tongue. Just tasted of pure rot. So just a word of caution.
I've been curious about it but just everything about the places it's sold, the prices it's sold for, the way it's marketed the claims people make about it and how they talk about it just sets off all the snake oil alarm bells for me.
I was really shocked to find out that the creams and patches actually work really well. The stuff I tried though was way to expensive to get regularly though.
For trying it out, see if you can get your hands on a 20mg - 50mg CBD soft drink/sparkling water. It should be under $5. Not sure if you can get them shipped in case you can't find them. I can get stuff like that all over the PNW, it's even in Kombucha and at some coffee stands.
I buy CBD flower and mix it in with my regular weed. It's a great experience. Cancels out any anxiety or weirdness you get from the THC high, so I usually do a 50:50 mix when I'm smoking out others who are not frequent consumers.
I'm pretty sure you need at least a small amount of THC to maximize the effect.
I've had almost the opposite experience, it doesn't do much for my anxiety but it helps enormously with the pain. I exclusively vape it now, I've tried to take it a few other ways and the effect wasn't nearly as noticeable. The normal weed I grow isn't as effective as CBD for pain but I've been in places with legal weed and a good selection and I've found some strains that are way more effective then just CBD .
The CBD oil stuff didn't seem to help. I think I felt more relaxed but it was hard to tell. Then I got some good CBD flower and that did help for sure. It was like smoking really weak weed but it's legal and won't make you fail a drug test. Then I discovered Delta 8. It's much closer to weed than CBD and legal. So I get that and it works really great. Very calm, relaxed, and high.
I've taken CBD lozenges and had a concentrated oil in a dropper that has been amazing for migraines and when my sciatica acts up.
It doesn't have the staying power of Ibuprofen, Aspirin, etc but it hits fast and last like an hour. Good for when I'm must feeling a little bit shitty or when I'm feeling really shitty and its going to take an hour or so for the pills to fully kick in.
Im sure there's a few straight-edge chapos, but I think you'd have a harder time finding someone here who doesn't smoke/vape.
But aye, CBD works for anxiety, and it works well. If you're looking for pain relief I'd recommend Kratom, at least if you're staying away from narcs & nsaids.
I take Kratom on the weekends and not only does it help with pain and exhaustion from my job, it helps with anxiety and helped me stop drinking so much. I went from a six pack a day (or more on the weekends), to a six pack a week. Apparently this is common, so for that it gets a big 👍.
But it's physically addictive, and basically acts as a light opiate, and you don't want to take it all the time unless you suffer from chronic pain and are avoiding or withdrawing from harder stuff.
It helps me a shit ton whenever I can get just cbd oil. But it is literally cheaper for me to buy actual weed.
Plus now I have to choose between getting a medical weed card, or my handgun CCL.
That’s my plan. I think it’s because of the state can federal legality and all that other stupid shit.
I agree it takes the edge off anxiety, that's a pretty perfect description. I take about 15mg in oil most days for the same reason and it does the trick. I was put off mostly by how expensive it is but bluebird's 50% sales made it affordable for me.
I just quit THC and i feel alot better on my anxiety i may try CBD to help take the edge off
