Imagine being such an empty husk that you can't even agree not to raise rent during a pandemic and historic economic downturn.

lets just take a minute to remember that landlords are literally a hold over from feudal manorialism and are all at least 200 years pass due for getting Mao'd for being shithead leeches. They are all fucking parasites blatantly sucking away value produced by others. Even Adam Smith made sure to stress how much of an absolute cancer these people are on the economy and society when he was laying down mad theory in the Wealth of Nations.

"Landlords are the only one of the three orders whose revenue costs them neither labour nor care, but comes to them, as it were, of its own accord, and independent of any plan or project of their own. That indolence, which is the natural effect of the ease and security of their situation, renders them too often, not only ignorant, but incapable of that application of mind"

The rent of land is established as a result of the struggle between tenant and landlord. We find that the hostile antagonism of interests, the struggle, the war is recognized throughout political economy as the basis of social organization.

Rent cannot be paid on all commodities. This competition has the further consequence that a large part of landed property falls into the hands of the capitalists and that capitalists thus become simultaneously landowners.

The final consequence is thus the abolition of the distinction between capitalist and landowner, so that there remain altogether only two classes of the population – the working class and the class of capitalists.

reminds me of "service providers" which means "landlord but for infrastructure." Just a technique to convince themselves they aren't parasites.

I saw the post title and assumed it was about services providing housing for people who are going to get kicked out by their bloodsucking landlords. But lol no, it's an article about bloodsucking landlords trying to suck blood a little harder. Cool cool cool
