The RLDF directly receives money from RAGA, which uses the "lawless liberals" langauge itself. Corporations know exactly the kind of thing they're funding.

I’m in the internet utility industry and it’s only going to get worse. They and other massive corps just got billions in funding from the FCC through these RDOF and ReConnect programs to provide rural internet. It was a really fucked up and very American process. There’s nothing binding them to doing it successfully, and it’s entrenching monopolies over smaller local internet providers, driving them out. Nothing new there of course, but this year was like Prop 22 levels bad for the future of fiber internet development in underserviced areas. Oh plus Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite service got a ton of money too, over rural providers literally ready and able to provide fiber hookups. Pretty wild
yup the oligarchs in internet industry work super hard to lobby for their interest. They've had effective oligopolies for years. Before I lived where i live now, the only option for internet was suddenlink and they were somehow even worse than comcast but at least had the excusse of not being one of the biggest companies ever.

Yeah these companies where just doing their usual buttering up of random republican/democratic groups by throwing money at them. They weren't paying attention to what exactly they were up to
Not to white knight the companies or anything, but a lot of them donate to some political organization, and those organizaton(s) put money towards something like the rally.

It's almost like corporations like having their bases covered should one group or another come to power. I mean these same ones sans Koch and maybe Fox probably donate to the DNC. These are tiny investments for these companies, enough they hope to get in the good graces of the organizers and people with power so they don't treat them badly next time they're in power.
