The US Empire semi-colonized Japan in order to extract maximum Anime yields.

She's a dub actress for Funimation.

Merch funds the people who actually make the anime. But it doesn't fund her.

They're supposed to buy it from Funimation.

I guess clarification: Funimation is an American company that localizes anime. They sell subscriptions and downloads. They probably are directly threatened by piracy, but fuck them. Fansubs were better before they got big.

Okay but either I don't buy it and don't watch it or I don't buy it and watch it.

Neither process involves you getting my money.

I tried explaining this to le epic wholesome chungus Keanu 100 redditors on the cyberpunk subreddit, and they quite literally could not understand that you are not hurting their favorite corporation by pirating it when you weren't going to buy it anyway. If I was not going to give them my money (which wouldn't be going to the employees anyways), and then I did something else which ALSO didn't give them my money, they did not lose any of my money. Even if that thing was pirating their broken game.

But one of those processes involves you not being punished for not spending money/being poor and that's actually what they care about.

Their entire mentality is punishing people that don't/can't spend money. That's it. They care less about the corporation getting money and more about you not being punished for being poor. Cause poor people shouldn't have things. They should suffer because they are poor.

But I do get to have it. If i didn't get to have it, then why do I have it? Checkmate. It's not out of my reach. That's how I got it.

      japanese artists

Not that the Japanese animators don't get screwed too, but a lot of the time the bulk of the animating is outsourced to the Philippines or similar.

It was a trip when I first paid attention to the credits of an 80’s anime movie and noticed that every single in-betweener had a woman’s name.

They tend to be Korean names in 2000s anime.

I've never pirated anime, because then I'd have anime on my hard drive and I don't want that.

Tanking Funimation's stocks by spending a week copying and pasting all of Dragon Ball Super 12,000 times and devastating their delicate balance of supply and demand
