Well Marx and Engels both expressed mixed views on the actual societies envisioned by the utopians. Marx in fact was very supportive of the late writings of Owen on how a commune could function (to the point that if one wants to be really provocative and cheeky, you could somewhat call Marx a scientific owenite communist) while being super critical of Saint Simon's plans. The real utopian problem with all of them were they were apolitical on having any plan on how to actually transform society (especially Fourier, whose writing is so weirdly apolitical even compared to Owen and Saint-Simon).
