Ngl my local station (KPCC) is not awful as far as local programming goes. National shows like Morning Edition or All Things Considered I'll shut off immediately. I have a fucking stack of audiobooks I haven't started yet so I wont turn on the radio for the foreseeable future.

I've finally gotten enough podcasts in order that I don't have to do this anymore, and it feels just so, so liberating.
I still wake up to my radio set to NPR, though. It's somehow both better and worse than waking up to a buzzer.

Npr doesn’t do commercials (except pledge drive, then I listen to silence) and everyone has a nice radio voice on it
