My heart is beating out of my chest, the final battle took me 4 death defiances and I barely survived at 2 hp (I also have to admit that I turned on God mode for the final battle because I wanted to meet mom ;_;). This is the first time in years that a game made me feel this way. Also my boons suck ass but I still made it 😎
Edit: no actual Screenshot because I spilled beer over my keyboard and my print key has been broken ever since
That's rad. I just barely made it to Elysium for the first time and met Thanatos. I may switch to god mode because i'm tired of sucking ass.
oh elysium sucks ass, but the moment when you can consitently beat the area boss feels so good
That hydra kicks my ass so much I can't make it through Elysium. I've gotta beat it soon.
Dashing a lot is important, as is keeping health high. Zeus + poseidon is a great duo, too, for getting to dad with a lot of health/lives.
Supergiant, man. I have no idea who those people are but I love them. Transistor will always have a special place in my heart but Hades really is a 10/10.
Does the gameplay get deeper or more interesting? I found the story and lore compelling, but the gameplay felt like a flash game.
I bought their other three games in a steam sale years ago and I need to go back and play them.
Transistor has this beautiful soundtrack. It's so good I would leave the game on and walk away from my computer.

:sankara-salute:
Congrats! I had my most fun clear yet yesterday, with Artemis cast and the rapid casting from Hermes. I managed to get both an extra cast from Chaos and two extra from Artemis legendary. And I was using the sword that dislodges casts from enemies and pumping up the damage on dislodge from Artemis. That was some insane damage!
duude i literally just had my first hades win 20 min ago!! haha. i had a boon that let me use my call every 5 seconds, and used aphrodites charm call. so i would use my call every time the boss was about to hit me and then i get 3 seconds of free attacks, repeat. absolutely fleeced
Congrats! It just gets better from here!
Interesting that you beat it with the sword first, that was the last weapon I was able to beat it with.
special slow-as-fuck sword+aphrodite main is super fucking strong.
Get demeter or dio special and add the 40% for affliction talent for stupid damage. Plus both dio and dem have some nice damage reduction boons to stack with aphro and the aura.
Dude you're right, the run I started right after felt so different, like I unconsciously absorbed some arcane knowledge and know I understand how to play the game better. Absolutely unreal
It's crazy. Once you've gotten confident enough, you can start using the boon list to plan out certain combos of boons, assuming you haven't done that already. It gets really tactical and fun.
I've gotten with the rail to the point of beating hades on 6 heat so far, trying to get up to 15. All weapons I can do like 3-4 heat.
Damn fine work! I felt the same the first time I'd come to fight Hades. That little 'You can't do this' voice whispering in the back of your head. Which is exactly what Zagreus must feel like, having to fight his father at the last stop out of hell. With just that hope that this time you'll make it out.
By now I've done about 32 runs and I'm beating Hades at about 3/4's of the time. Don't worry, once you've beaten him, you'll be able to do it again. And again. And again.
(Gameplay tips! My favorite trick is to stack debuffs and use the shadow ability that gives you bonus damage from both. Aphrodite/Demeter/Dionysus are a killer trio depending on the weapon you get.)
Roll with lucifer Zeus attack, artemis bonus arrow. On action for some stupid fun runs. If you get the 30% attack speed buff from hermes...
