Address to send food and coffee:

772 Edgewater Rd

Bronx, NY 10474

(Thanks guys and yes this address is public too so no worries)

These strikers (1400 strong) were not even compensated an extra $1 per hour while being responsible for 60% of NYC’s fresh produce and providing produce for 30 million+ people in the NYC area. They’ve worked long and dangerous hours during the pandemic with no compensation and they are standing up!

Teamsters for all their problems have insane energy most unions lack

Teamsters remember when they were literally breaking kneecaps.

I hope they return to their roots

Because the mob could take over the union, and have its leaders act on the mob's orders. For example having dock workers striking over mob business with the dock management instead of for worker benefits. This worked in the fifties because socialists and other dedicated organizers got forced out of union leadership by the state.

My take is that the Teamsters, which at times were a revolutionary union (and often were not), were/are therefore a criminal organization. They need financing and sometimes they needed to outsource dirty work. I'm not saying there's nothing to critique here, but they've used a willingness to exist outside the law to create what might be the most effective and long lasting leftwing organization in the history of the US.
