They often have charisma and emotional intelligence, but most people would be shocked, if they spent time with a politician, how they're aren't really all that smart.

The issue with this is the same issue with their fixation on credentials. It doesn't matter how smart and qualified you are if you do things that make my life worse, or aren't doing enough to make my life better as a person elected to (on paper at least) serve the people in this country.
No one can deny that these people are smart. You don't get that far without a degree of intelligence. Them being stupid ain't the problem. It's the fact that their goals do not align with the needs and hopes and goals of the people of their country.
That's the fucking problem. Them turning lifetimes of political competence and manouvering to the further extraction of profit from the world, and the people of the world to maintain a constant state of slow death is the problem.

It's easier to prove that these people's actions have measurably and susbstantially made people's lives worse than to prove they are more or less intelligent than another.
