They were celebrating biden, decency and norms returning to the world. I said that there was not that much cause to celebrate. We got into a stupid argument, I asked them to name me policy differences to Bush if there were really worlds between them. I was told that there was no 911 in the last 4 years and Bush was also long ago, so it was not comparable. Then I was told that they disliked my support for trump. lol. Please help me

    When I started to lay out my view I was told that a) that was long ago b) I was beeing condescending c) they do not now that much about the american system and therefore I have an equally unsophisticated understanding.

    That you can dislike two things at once is in retrospective prob the main point of contention

          In my experience? Not much, you can keep trying to teach them, but that conversation is filled with "Uh-huhs" and usually just ends with them forgetting everything anyway.

          Some other people here have had success with throwing away all civility and bullying them until it works. Obviously you shouldnt do this if you're living with them or otherwise dependent on them.
