Fucking kill me.
"If it's possible"
--> they're already planning on dropping the leftist part 100%
This is probably how a lot of reasonable people think. They recognise the problems with capitalism but have been brainwashed under the neoliberal system to not even think about any alternative system.
Many in here mentioning coops and that's a great model to run a business. However, if someone starts their own gig we have to stop thinking dialectical materialism and start thinking group project in school. The way the current economic system is designed, if someone starts a business and starts hiring people, they wont find someone as invested as them. So they wont let them have a say in their company, thus risking everything they worked for.
Just because someone doesn't want to share their group project with everyone doesn't make them a chud
it should probably be through government regulation, mostly, like minimum wages and various legislation
WRONG. Government regulation has always been a concession. Next time voteball happens, conservatives win and either undo your win or fuck it up and privatize it. Obviously, if mandating it through regulation is the best chance you have then take it. But the proper course is to have union membership be so high that whatever the government-mandated minimum wage is does not matter. Everyone is on a collective contract and companies get wedgied into offering better working conditions every other month.
