there'll be a mass death event on our side of the border, it'll be attributed to some cartel the CIA founded, and that will be that
My Mexican friend likes to say "America eats and Mexico takes the shit."
Tale as old as time. Hell the marines sing it in their corny ass song. "Halls of Montezuma" is a reference to that time the USA invaded Mexico. And then a whole bunch of the guys who got their first taste of battle in that war went on to become scum fuck confederates, including Robert E Lee.
True. I sometimes think I can run a joke into the ground and then I run into a "I identify as an attack helicopter" guy ten years on.
I'm still angry over that one, but mostly cause I initially thought the premise of the joke was criticizing some of the weirder tumblr stuff for appropriating trans language and trivializing the realities of trans people's lives.
That wouldn’t go well for the USA. They’re used to fighting people on other continents who can’t easily retaliate…
Keep in mind that while the US spends all your college and healthcare funds on its military, a substantial part of it is probably grifts like the F-35. Expensive toys that will serve completely impractical in combat and mostly serve to grift investors and the government. Also aircraft carriers lmao.
I don't think Mexico would win, but it would be costly for Americans and it would be the closest they ever got to a war on home turf. The American population wouldn't like it, I don't think.
Looking at how frothing liberals are getting from white people dying in Israel right now, I can't fucking imagine what would happen to the liberal mind if a Mexican bomb hit El Paso killing dozens
Frankly, I'd be more worried about what would happen to anyone who happens to even look Mexican within the US if a war were to break out. Some chud's third cousin he never met died in a Walmart bombing and suddenly he's out looking to murder anyone who looks like they speak Spanish. You guys remember that one video posted a couple weeks ago where some FreedomFreikorps were driving around with guns in their SUVs looking for an alleged "illegal alien" spotted about?
Mexico city would be flattened and the Mexican government would surrender, but Mexico is huge. You'd never pacify the whole country at any given time, it'd be another forever war with pockets of guerillas constantly popping up and the US military trying to play whack-a-mole
...I didn't initially intend for the mole pun there but you can read it that way if you want
it'd be another forever war with pockets of guerillas constantly popping up and the US military trying to play whack-a-mole
That is the real goal of most US wars. The machine needs to be fed and the US economy needs that type of war to be happening at all times. Over 90% of US history has had that type of war ongoing, the US economy is built around it. What's scary is when the US doesn't have that type of war ongoing because it means they have to create such a war. We joke about the US going to war with Mexico but that is only because everyone knows deep down that as Ukraine fizzles out the US needs to find a fresh military frontier to feed the machine that hasn't already been turned to rubble.
My bet is either Iran or Mexico. Very worst case is idiots who actually believe their own bullshit decide to go for China and everyone dies in nuclear fire. Other option I guess is the US can't find a new military frontier and has a second civil war, which is just as bad as war with China because civil wars are vicious and undoubtedly the sides would eventually launch all their nuclear weapons rather than accept defeat.
I agree that this is America's usual MO but what's different this time around is that for the first time since 1945 there's a credible movement to dedollarize and move away from the USD as the world's reserve currency. Military spending is macroeconomicly just like any other type of government consumption in that it has to be paid for. Previously America printed USD to cover the cost, knowing that the rest of the world would eat the inflation instead of the US. It seems like America might be reaching the limits of that with it's debt problems and dedollarization. The next war might be one war too far.
The US has really never had to contend with guerilla infiltration that could happen nearly anywhere along one of the longest land borders in the world. Maybe if they turn all of the border and inner gulf into a minefield.
I don't know about that
If weren't so overextended and it was just about military might then sure but things aren't so simple and I could see the whole country fracturing into some kind of waring states period if not outright revolution should the contradictions keep heightening
It wouldn't be a full scale invasion, it would start as a "counter terrorist operation" supposedly against cartels, but the ultimate aim would be getting rid of AMLO and installing a more reliable empire stooge. Mexico geopolitically has been a thorn in the side of the last 2 US admins, refusing to send money or weapons to Ukraine and normalizing with Cuba/Venezuela/Bolivia.
It does seem like a bad idea and a net loss for the empire, they don't really gain all that much from it but American senators are frothing at the mouth calling for it so there must be some interest or lobby pushing for it. Maybe they'll go fully mask off and re-create the Mexico-American war motives where it's just about annexing land and getting more of an impoverished non-white underclass to psuedo-enslave to expand their workforce?
The next few decades will be the economic western core trying to maintain control over their client states. The west is completely reliant on it. They will find more and more justifications, and will become more and more brazen in their actions, for that is the necessity of capitalism.
One month after Mexico nationalised it's lithium:
https://hexbear.net/post/255991
some republicans have been braying about it, i think the casus belli is "cartels", but they really want more of an excuse to ethnically cleanse the southern US and kill immigrants faster
If Mexico becomes a less compliant client state, the US would see an interest in finding new ways to force compliance. Both the national security state and business interests will see value in this.
Whether that's actually invasion will depend on some historical developments, but the pressure is already there. Multipolarity is impacting Mexico like everywhere else.
he's raising the idea that the CIA could use a false flag cross-border attack to justify invading Mexico. I think
no need for an intentional false flag, no humans in charge of this any more, the Demiurge is piloting the mech
Can't wait for the Sinaloa-Hamas-Wagner forces in Mexico to invade
I don't think it will be an outright war. Not yet anyway. More like a brief intervention that ends in a weird stalemate.
Russia: its not a war, its a special military operation
libs
USA: its not a war, its a special military operation

Uh, Cuba, Vuvuzela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, maybe... They don't have good military but they're good allies to keeping the anti-imperialist Socdem order...
China might do sanctions and the usual UN stuff. Really doubt they'd do anything more than that.
This is too perfect to not happen. Fuckkkk
I mean right wing pigs already call for invading northern mexico. They’d love an excuse.
The zetas are already there.
Oh no
