which bionicle movie? mask of light? legends of metru nui? web of shadows? or god forbid the legend reborn?
mask of light is probably the best out of the three IMO, even if I dislike the portrayals of some of the toa
I actually rewatched it recently and I thought it didn't hold up. I also played the movie game but I didn't finish it because I got stuck on the part where you have to surf on lava and I quit.
I really missed the timing on that game. Too hard for kid me when I got it and too shitty for adult me when I came back to it. Banging music tho, Lego used to make some creative games before they went full cookie cutter
Mask of Light is a garbage movie that would have served better as the season finale of a series.
MNOG1 was the shit. Then they made MNOG2 which had so much potential but was so buggy I could never get very far before it was literally impossible to proceed.
this is a really cool video about the making MNOG that you might like https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kmHmFmPM5Hk
never forget that they tried to copyright polynesian words for profit
Do the bionicle comics hold up? I’d love to finish them but I don’t know how cringe they will be
I fucking loved the comics, I still have all of them. They're not terribly great and definitely can be cringe but I still think they're cool as hell and fun to page through every now and again. Shit is such hyperconcentrated childhood nostalgia; I was so enchanted by that mysterious world as a kid and it's still sort of magical to look through those old comics and partially return to that headspace
The world was so fucking cool. It was just so different then anything else at the time and was genuinely dark and mysterious and crazy. I remember when the Bohrok came out it freaked me out so much but I was so into it.
It's definitely aimed at teens and preteens, but the comics are actually decent. Art in particular is real nice, and the worldbuilding of course
All I remember is the commercials but I'd be down for it if they as good as those.
I only remember the first one, but i would love that.
