"I remember 2000 when we had Bob Hope Johnny Cash and Steve Jobs, no we have no jobs, no cash, and no hope"
Follow my soundcloud for morewell it could be just some nordic dudes talking about how cold their country is or some shit that is half of metal
Slim chance they're writing metal songs about Walter Scott or Alexandre Dumas, historically appropriate Romanticism and its connection to the incipient formation of the nation-state
Idk what they're supposed to be, but given the genre and all they probably sound a bit like WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAJAJAJAAJCHCHOOOOOOORRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHHHHH so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Pretty sure it’s this band (metallum is well designed and allows you to search lyrical themes; only 12 showed up).
Honestly just looks like goofy shit, some lyrics in Finnish but translations are given. Amazing cover art for this album and a sample of lyrics:
Overflowing Manifestation
Thou art the principle of excess// Of serpent fire and incorruptible life// Yours are the countless faces// Gleaming both darkness and light
Like a blaze of lightning falling from heaven// A God shattered, a dragon penetrated// A being so divine
Thou art the very blood that flows// In the underground veins of existence// Yours is the mystery of the endless black space// And the fulfilment of it with stars so bright//
I would not at all be surprised to find out nazis were involved at some stage (whether it’s the weirdo who used “national romanticism” as a tag, the label, or a band member) nothing immediately jumps out at me, aside from that yikes-ass tag. Though, the last couple entries in the discography don’t have lyrics, so who knows what’s up with them
Oh hey I listened to some of their stuff and tbh it's not that bad. The lyrics really make no difference because even if I understood Finnish I wouldn't understand this shit.
Yeah, that sounds totally believable to me. From the thread setup, I went in expecting overt nazi shit, hence the tone. but it really just seems to be “normal by metal standards goofy neopagan stuff”
I'm sure they're just really into Goethe and wearing floral Dirndls.
Nah, they're a metal band made up of black people who romanticize the occult and esoteric aspects of the Nation of Islam.
