Comrades, my girlfriend is considering writing a term paper on the depiction of paganism and vikings in Nazi Black Metal and we need some sources/names to conduct research. All help is welcome.

A few I remember from my misguided days, which actually produced decent music:
Goatmoon (Fin)
Graveland (Pol) Doesn’t list it in lyrical themes but I’m like 95% sure they’re NSBM (National Socialist Black Metal)
Kataxu (Pol)
Gontyna Kry (Pol) These last two really bum me out cause they’d make really fucking good anprim bands :-(
Apraxia (Bel)
Legacies Unchain (Fin) another fucking bummer, awesome throwback almost hairmetal sound but the album “satan is strong and always near” (killer name) features a swastika fairly prominently on the cover art. Everything about the band seems incredibly ironic but that’s a hard irony-pill to swallow
Also, you can search lyrical themes in Metallum, and “national socialism” brings up nearly 750 results. It’s normally pretty hard to have conclusive evidence that someone’s a straight up nazi, but that lyrical theme is a pretty good indicator.
I swear you used to be able to find results with NSBM as a music genre, but that didn’t turn up anything just now
Graveland is definitely NSBM, another one to throw out now that you've jogged my memory is the french band Peste Noir (hate that fucking guy)
I love when these bands have name like "Goatmoon" Like that's just straight up ridiculous, unless its some translation error of something in fiish or whatever that doesn't exist in English. Or like that band "Forest of Grief" that got translated into english as "Mourning Woods"
