Edit: here's the scene from the 1976 movie.

TL;DR/TL;DW: 1970's art-house scifi flick (from a 1967 novel) where future society is predicated on killing everyone off on their 30th birthday in a Cirque de Soleil-esque combination Gravitron/bug zapper suicide ritual, with promises of reincarnation if you die by bug zapper suicide.

We really do need some sort of ritualized self-deletion of accounts that hit a certain age/use threshold. True posters don't need to coast on an established account name, giving deference to older accounts quickly leads to diminishing returns, and bans (which in practice are closer to speedbumps) would be less of an issue.

We could make it a celebration. Like Carousel, or the euthanasia scene from Soylent Green. Relive all your best posts in one last thread before venturing into the Great Posting Beyond.

purges, just how I like them overly wide and random but mostly on the high parts of society, can we at least make every mass ban have a cool name like the doctor's plot or something, what's the saying he who didn't feel the warmth of the ussr will self-immolate to see if that compares?
