To be fair, more americans needlessly died on 1/6 than on 9/11

It's just that they died of covid

It literally was. 3900 'mericans died of covid that day. Only 2900 people died during 911. So was January 7th, 8th, 9th and so on.

This was the guy who was mad online about Phoebe Bridgers breaking a guitar on SNL and then all his followers started talking about how terrible Sinead O'Connor is for hurting the poor pope :liberty-weeping:

But seriously what is he even mad about? The replies are clearly boomeresque whining, but wtf is Mr Defiant's angle?

    I mean, yeah, 6/1 wasn't as funny as 11/9

Eh this is at least debatable.

If you just go by death count, sure, 9/11 is worse, but just looking at deaths is silly. With that method you'd think a bunch of battles from the Civil War, WWI, and WWII had more negative historical impact than 9/11. What makes 9/11 so bad isn't the death toll itself, but what it catalyzed in terms of a brand-new wave of imperialist aggression and the explosion of the domestic security state.

Similarly, what makes the capitol putsch so bad isn't the death toll itself, but what it will lead to. There's no way of knowing what it will lead to, but there are plausible answers that are at least comparable to the fallout of 9/11. It's certainly a big step in the wrong direction on the continuum of fascism, and it's easy to see how the response to it could be used to kneecap the budding leftist energy in the country.

In short, "invading the capitol as a joke was NOT ok."

Very well thought out and I completely agree with you.
If only that was what that dude meant, because I'm 100% sure he will be very much in favor of all the measures that will be taken after this.

Yeah, I'm giving this a generous spin that the guy almost certainly didn't intend. A "not totally unreasonable take for the wrong reasons" situation.

9/11 led to millions of brown people being killed, caused Islamophobia and American nationalism to skyrocket, etc.

Best part about these tweets is trying to parse who is what in the replies. Is it a chud? Is it a leftist? Succdem? One thing is for sure, you'll always spot the lib

        personal little grift

According to the FEC files , the treasurer is in Chicago, so either Brooklyn Dad has some explaining to do, or it's at least 2 people.

Jesus, they raised $2m. I'm giving up an ethics and becoming a grifter next cycle. If they're going to buy the shit, they're going to fund some socialism.

I think about this sometimes, too. It'd be pretty cool to take some ghoulish megacorp's money via a normal-seeming PAC and shunt it via their own tax havens into Ecuador, laughing all the way. Not even sure it'd be illegal to do it.

Corporate ghouls have accounting departments who might look into it. I want to sell leather back to hogs. I want the rabid k-hive and MAGA supporters who will buy anything supporting a person who hates them.

edit: Or do the Lincoln Project but I just copypaste chapo comments into a video of Moscow Mitch.
