I just drank one of those trendy sleepytime teas but i used four bags at once and i ain’t feeling shit

Did I get grifted by one of those alternative medicine type deals?

The blends tend to be really low quality, buy some chamomile and valerian root from somewhere like Fronteir Co-op and blend them yourself. Some other good herbs for relaxation are lemon balm, lavendar, and hops. They really do work, it's just pretty subtle. It almost pre-disposes you to sleep and relaxation, but won't force you into it like an ambien or a benzo.

Yeah? I'll look into that. Makes sense that the quality ain't too great considering this isn't medicine and isn't subjected to any regulation most likely.

yeah, I wish herbal medicine was taken more seriously and incorporated along with existing healthcare practices with regulations and proper education and training. That sort of thing kind of exists right now with small independent herbalist schools but it's very marginal, underfunded, and understudied. One other reason we need to free medical research from researching only what is profitable.

iirc supplements are regulated fairly well in Canada, so I buy Canadian brands when possible. The US being an ancap hellworld, you're at the mercy of third-party review organizations. Look for companies that hire third-party analysis of their products; They're usually quite proud about it on the label because they fucking paid for it.
