I'm worried that this "bit's aren't funny" bit is just a short hop skip and jump to the perennial left-twitter classic "I hate fun" bit.

Don't. I did it when I thought electoralism had a shot for once but it ended up being all downhill from there. The best stuff gets posted here too anyways.

If you do use it, only follow cool people. I know that sounds silly, but as soon as you start following a bunch of big accounts you're gonna log in everyday getting mad at more stuff than usual. Stick with people who like posting to do jokes and have a good time online. Also it's really easy to fall into the clout trap and feel like you need engagement on your posts to get the full Twitter experience and it's like using Instagram at that point. That's my take on that

My plan was just to be as annoying as possible while staying in the rules but the more I think about it might not work. I wanted to hit libs with a barrage of cringe worthy but safe puns, kind of like what I do here but more maliciously and not backing off. Still might get kicked off or worse yet fall into getting mad or clout chasing. I'll probably won't do it now for my mental health. Thank you for the warning.

I use to do that too, but it started getting to the point where I didn't want to check my notifications because it would be a barrage of Pelosi clapping gift and a ton of, "uhmm, actually sweaty..."

I still fall for the lib bait every now and then but I just make my point and mute the thread if I feel like it was important enough to refute something. Getting into arguments online has almost never worked out. I do have discussions with leftists though sometimes because the majority are acting in good faith. Plus there is a lot of young people who use Twitter and just dunking on them for not fully understanding things isn't productive in the long run.

The people on Twitter are so dense they will probably out-annoy you. Not worth the effort cause the character limit stops you from replying with anything substantial (whether you're trying to troll or post sincerely)

I liked someone's take that twitter is 50% people mad because the world is ending and 50% people playing animal crossing, and that's how you end up with someone posting a random pic and someone getting very mad about it, and someone posting something actually important and people treating it as a joke.

    Who cares.

"Oh no, someone may have posted cringe, the horror".

One of the good things about the left (other than everything else) is knowing that our ideology is more than triggering X and attempting to be cool 24/7.

shutting down your entire community as a joke and laughing at people who are upset definitely shows that you're a serious about leftism and don't treat politics like a game and that you can be trusted with power no matter how trivial

I think trying to make /r/cth and it's adjacent website synonymous with broader leftism is a bit silly. One can and should take these websites very lightly and leftism very seriously.

Since you're not familiar with the context (which is great, btw, it means we're growing organically now), I'll explain:

Back in like November 2018 when the subreddit reached 69,420 subscribers, the mods decided it would be funny to shut down the subreddit temporarily (to preserve the 69,420 subscriber count). I myself was brand-new to the sub, and was rather bemused to find it shut down.

After it was brought back, a user made a post entitled "Closing the sub for a joke wasn't OK," which was upvoted fairly heavily but was also instantly converted into a copypasta, and it's been a popular in-joke ever since.

Nah, John McCain died when we reached 42,069. The mods shut down the sub for all of an hour or two, then decided to reopen and delay the shutdown to 69,420 so we could celebrate.
