I doubt there's any kind of ideological difference between Meera and Machin, just a disagreement about optics. Neera is also a beltway 'insider', an elite lib, so Manchin gets to score some points in WV by skewering those types.

Reed is a ghoul, so is Neera. Both pushed for SS cuts, but Reed definitely had more power.
