Yea okay, makes sense it would differ depending on the industry, its probably the same in my country. All the places I've worked have just always believed me when I told them I was sick, no matter the length.
In Germany it's like that. A woman who used to be the manager of a shop there told me that the norm was that employees had to get a doctor's note even for a single sick day.

Depends. Office jobs, not so much. But anything in the service industry they expect you show up unless you're literally dying.
