William Z. Foster, born on this day in 1881, was a radical American labor organizer and Marxist politician whose career included serving as General Secretary of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) from 1945 to 1957. He was previously a member of the Socialist Party of America (SPA) and the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), although he was critical of the former for not working with already existing unions.
Foster was a key figure in the drive to organize the packinghouse industry during World War I and in instigating the Steel Strike of 1919. He was the more radical, pro-Soviet political rival of CPUSA leader Earl Browder, who was a supporter of the Roosevelt administration.
Foster was also a prolific political writer, and his work "Towards Soviet America" has been continuously republished by both leftists and anti-communists who see it as scandalous. Foster described the book as a "plain statement of Communist policy, avoiding technical complexities and theoretical elaboration...Its central purpose is to explain to the oppressed and exploited masses of workers and poor farmers how, under the leadership of the Communist party, they can best protect themselves now...".
The American Party of Labor claims descent from Foster and his secretary and aide, Jack Shulman.

not to be a doomer but without a vanguard party it probably would have fizzled out same way.
Probably wouldn’t have happened if people hadn’t had free time and no school
My dumb black cat is mad at me because I tripped on him because I couldn't see him in a dark hallway.
Wow, that South Carolina primary was disappointing. But one loss isnt everything, Bernie has a long race ahead of him. Just wait til Super Tuesday! :agony-shrooms:
The only time I've ever seen my dad concerned about the amount of power businesses have over the personal lives of their employees was when it comes to making people get the covid vaccine 🙄
Finally deleted my Reddit account or rather just deleted the app and said fuck it. Was attacked in a thread called and idiot by libs. I’m not proud of it but I just had a shaking break down cause of it.
I’m beyond exhausted, my mom is on hospice in the home with me as the doctors have ended her chemo treatment. I’m with my sister and we are hanging in there but this has been the worst I’ve felt since November when we got her diagnosis.
What I can’t wrap my head around is why this world and this society we live in is so needlessly cruel? I lost my brother in 2018 and just when I was feeling somewhat normal, covid, the summer protest and my moms diagnosis happened all back to back. I’m not suicidal and I don’t have those ideations, but a big part of me just wants to drive 1300 miles to California and just go walk into the Ocean and let it take me.
We all joke about being jokerfied, base pilled and all that but all I feel is crushing defeat and the inability to do anything to help anyone anymore. Just I’m the butt of a cruel ass joke, someone that people can point to and go “well at least I’m not that sad sack of shit”.
We are sad because capitalism exists. The motivation I need for keeping alive right now is to help prepare and carry out the revolution when it occurs. It will be hard (and it is hard for me) but i feel like letting everything go would be a betrayal to the proletariat.
So sorry that you have so many burdens right now. Hang in there the best you can.
Currently thinking up gender fuck outfits to make the cis uncomfortable
:party-sicko:
Denim on denim makes everyone a little uncomfortable so start from there.
But really, congrats comrade!
In an argument with my uncle who is usually leftish about those right now. Saying it’s a matter of policy and shit and Biden isn’t as bad
And what's wrong with being a centrist? Learning how to argue by examining facts, comparing info, and being willing to at least hear what info each side presents is crucial. Otherwise, one is willingly to allow their biases to decide what's "true," no matter if it is or not. Someone might as well just lock themselves into their echo chamber.
Logic and reason dislike emotion laden diatribes.
Hate wading into a thread about landlords and rent on r*ddit where I can't even drop a :mao-aggro-shining:
So the idea that nazism was a left wing movement has spread to European politicians. Can't wait to have constant quarrels with people who buy into this shit :agony-turbo:
Just had someone spout this during an online meeting about workplace safety, as we went over that you're not allowed to discriminate based on political views. All the lefts new ideas are apparently straight from Hitler.
