I love tht 19 year olds going “there is no unity with MLs it always becomes this”

19 year olds are still young. I would have scoffed at the idea of Marxist-Leninism my freshman year of college, when I was young and naive and Ron Paul Curious.

Shut the fuck up you shivvy shite

Getting people to voice their political views in public with any degree of confidence is the first step to getting them to address the contradictions. The last fucking thing you want is some kid sitting in a corner, confused and alienated, but terrified to say something that someone else will say is wrong.

That's what this 19-year-old has probably been doing their entire life, as their parents say "Shut the fuck up you stupid idiot what do you know?" at every dinner table conversation. It's the path to getting all your politics through The West Wing and becoming a smug lanyard wearing neoliberal dipshit. Or getting your politics through Jordan Peterson.

I guess when your ideology is based around para social relationships with v-tubers and fictional cartoons, it's easy to just keep pretending that all the lies are actually real.

The thing is there’s a sliver of logic to what this ding dong is saying. this poster lays it out decently. Basically if there is really compelling evidence that X is true yet you believe Y for illogical reasons, if it does turn out Y is true you reasons for believing it were still illogical and you’re not suddenly vindicated. Thing is that’s not comparable to the situation here, where any and all evidence (for both sides of the argument I may add) come from horribly bias sources so either side claiming they have the better stance is talking out their ass. Plus one side has the fact that if they’re wrong the response is going to be a Third World War.

Part of the problem is that the entire allegation has a "When did you start beating your wife?" vibe. There's no real way to address anything going on in Xinjiang without coming across as "horribly biased". Simply throwing up your hands and saying you don't know what's going on gets you pegged as a holocaust denialist. Taking the Both Sides line still ends up being a variation on China Bad.

You can't approach this story objectively, because the allegations are loaded from the start.
