You see that white goo coming out of the side? The lemon juice breaks that stuff down and you can just rinse it off after it's soaked. Do all that and let it dry before you season it with anything else. You don't need much lemon juice either, if your campus has free lemon wedges anywhere for iced tea, one wedge is enough for two of those filets.
