I’m not sure anyone outside of Twitter actually likes her. Her campaign imploded, her only memorable policy was means-tested into oblivion, and she covered up police brutality. She offers nothing except tokenism.

This is a bad take, she is deeply connected to California fundraising networks which played a key role in keeping the Obama administration afloat. And now with the increased consciousness among Dem voters and donors around down ballot stuff, this will prove to be useful.

She also does have a sizable fan base of deranged supporters who will work hard to make sure Biden gets elected, where among VP potentials only Warren came with this sort of support.

Lastly, and this is the biggest one, she is the strongest bet at be able to hold the Obama coalition together in future election cycles. Biden was only able to win black voters the way he did because of Obama, and Harris will be able to increase her approval among white college educated moderates by being VP. This was their only way to blunt the lefts momentum into the white house during the next election cycle.
