World War III is a nuclear war in 2026. The fallout leads to despair and an innovation. Zefram Cochrane makes first contact with aliens in 2063 after achieving warp. The crew of the Enterprise communicate with extraterrestrial whales in Star Trek 4.
4=4th international. Coincidence? I think not! The truth is out there. :possadist-ufo:
Why don't our space comrades intervene? Fuck that prime directive bullshit, just lazer zap the fascists and capitalists, everybody else will be grateful.
They are waiting for us to break the warp barrier, so you can hold Elon Musk directly responsible for any lack of first contact.
Also it's worth pointing out that first contact with the Vulcans predates the Prime Directive.
I'm in the middle of watching next generation and man the holodeck episodes fucking suck, they should have made it about whales
I love the holodeck because it's the buggiest and most dangerous part of the ship. The episodes I personally couldn't handle were the lwaxana ones. I skipped like 50% of those.
yeah seems like skipping the holodeck ones might be the best way to watch it
I'm interested, but there's so much of it it's kind of overwhelming, so I've never gotten started.
Start with season 2 of TNG and go from there to DS9. The rest you can take or leave.

:posadist-nuke:
Start Trek IV: The Voyage Home is all about how (then-extinct) whales can communicate with aliens and the Enterprise crew have to go back in time to bring whales to the 23rd Century
Filthy human trots. Real leftists know the truth of Cardassian socialism.
I'm thinking ten downvotes per user per month would get us most of of good with hardly any of the bad.
I absolutely love the Dukat bit because it never fails to elicit a violent response.
