Thought y'all had given up on electoralism when Bernie dropped out and that the consensus was none of Biden's VP picks actually mattered..
So what's with the new wave of doomerposting? Basically nothing's changed.
IDK the Abrams snub on live TV and Warren selling out for nothing were kinda funny
Those thing are funny, but Harris doesn't have to be the VP pick for those to happen
It’s going to be pretty funny when the everyone keeps reminding Biden, Kamala was that little girl.
He could have picked the Klob... just imagine watching the State of the Union while she's got a constant "Ima fucking kill you, asshole" smirk for the full 90 minutes
Instead we're getting the soul-dead prosecutor look which looks even more soulless than Pence's "jolly racist uncle" that everyone at least acknowledges as human
Also for any of you that have a problem with this, half of what a VP does is literally stand behind the president while the president says things. It's literally that useless of a position
I was hoping they would wheel out Epstein's corpse as a unity ticket
I've seen mocking posts, not doomer posts.
Except the doomerism of "oh fuck, I have to listen to these fucking liberals until goddamn November..."
Because it's just confirming the doom. US has a decade, probably less. Gonna be fun. Putting the Police into police state.
Course there's a world out there where he picked like...Angela Davis...for VP (to great confusion) and then collapsed into a coma 3 days after inauguration.
I don't understand why people are acting like doomers about the US being in its death throes. It's literally the best thing that could happen.
I hope you're right. I mean, we do have enough bombs to destroy the entire world. And who fucking knows what we're going to do when our backs are against the wall. And it's probably going to be violent for a lot of people in the country. But, if the smoke clears and there's still a world left you're right.
I'd like to throw dirt on the casket, but only America's. Not so much a ton of innocent people's.
It's just the dichotomy between the banality of this VP choice and the insanity in the general society.
It's abundantly clear that they're trying to normalize all of this, and it's just a gigantic confirmation/reminder of that.
I don't think people are dooming. I think they are grabbing popcorn.
There was always a little hope that the last 2 months of protesting influenced politicians.
They only care if you really break shit.
honestly im only bummed about the kamala pick because I was hoping for a more extreme hellworld outcome like hillary or michelle. this shit is just boring
I've mainly just seen people mocking the stupidity and spectacle of it all.
Yeah but I don't see how Kamala as VP is significantly worse than any of the other possible picks. They all sucked shit didn't they?
I'm just having fun with it. I'm not even an American.
It's the small pleasures, you know?
For me, it's less the choice itself and more the reaction to it. My family has a groupchat and right now it's really bad. A lot of stuff about how great a choice she is for completely aesthetic reasons, and I get very politely shouted down whenever I suggest there's anything at all wrong with either Biden or Kamala (at least I got my mom to apologize for constantly bringing up Trump as if I wasn't aware he existed).
EDIT: I bring up Kamala being a Tough on Crime prosecutor and I get told "well I don't think Trump will use that, and if he does it won't work, so who cares?" That shit's the main reason for me being in doomer mode right now
yeah maybe I don't like tough-on-crime politicians because I don't like tough-on-crime policies, not because I'm playing some stupid ass game where I try and predict what other people think of a presidential candidate who I only like because I think other people like them
