I think there was a time I liked it but now I'm just already sick of it and it's only 7am

Whoever it was who posted that "Kissinger is Dead" story earlier ruined my day. For a solid fifteen seconds I felt no matter what else happened today, that was in the bag. A certain thing. A good thing.

But then I remembered the day.

    Fuck you.

Didn't even remember that that was an aprils fools thing, meant mostly the same old changing themes to some jokey stuff and whatever that subreddits always do

idk there was a while where r-pokemon and r-digimon would switch and that was really fun as someone who enjoys both (for different reasons)

Yeah it's good to do humor instead of "hey. I had a sandwich today" "ok...?" "Ha, I didn't, I only had toast. I only had toast'

Yeah there's definitely occasional things that are funny or fun, especially when there was clearly a decent amount of effort put in. As much as I hate reddit, r/place was really cool. But that wasn't a prank it was just like, hey here's a fun little timeboxed game.

I told Death Stranding my bday was April Fool's when I started it last week and today there was a raspberry birthday cake in my private room

Football Manager has a funny one. I was managing a very poor lower league club and get an email saying like "The board have decided to award you a sum in the region of $500 million to spend on players and a new stadium."

I like the "pranks" that are more like high effort silliness. Google of all places used to do it well, where they'd do something like announce 8-bit mode for Google Maps. The prank was that they pretend this is a serious feature, but the actual joke is that they made it work.

Yeah I think the last time I enjoyed it I was probably like 13. "haha i said a thing and it is not the truth" is just not a funny joke.

ambear was a low effort joke you cant/shouldnt mistake for real, but i dont like jokes that try and push it anymore. i just dont care then.

I think they have mostly stopped, but ten years ago fucking news sites would do April Fools articles. It was so annoying.

The real real annoying part is when something significant happens and you think it's another prank but it isn't.

General audience comedy, and especially corporate comedy, just irk me after growing up with shitty 90s/2000s television. This day is the worst of the two. I dread it like the internet equivalent of Christmas.

I like the ones that are extremely obvious jokes. Not because I think they are funny, or because I enjoy participating in them, but because it marks the passage of time in a memorable way.

Me too, a prank I've often done is going around my workplace and tell people the boss wants to see them, they usually figure it out when there are like 7 people suddenly outside his office.

(I take care not to be too disruptive and am quick to let people know this is a prank)

    It’s fun when you’re like 8

Wait no it still wasn’t fun
