How do you even find jobs that are all cool with your schedule, every minimum wage job I've had demands open availability every day but still keeps you at 20-30 hours a week. The only one that makes sense is squeezing in driving for Uber after a shift.

This dude is working 4 jobs a day.

My grandad is like 96 and he volunteers down at a charity shop and rearranges his flat every few months.

        He hates doing nothing.

A big part of it is that conservatives (and most liberals, really) equate work with employment. Like, yeah, no shit most people don't want to give half their waking life to an asshole boss to make money for an asshole CEO, but that doesn't mean they have no desire to contribute to the world.

Ordering from UberEats makes you a bad person with almost no exceptions. Ordering to have groceries delievered makes you a bad person, with slightly more exceptions.

Idk how people afford to use ubereats and doordash unless youre ordering for a party. The only time I used it was when they gave me the 30 dollars off your first meal coupon

Covid is the exception to grocery delivery, anyone who has the means to stay home should stay their ass home

I live in a rural area quite a significant distance from the nearest grocery store and cannot afford a car. Grocery delivery is my only option.

Probably about $15/hr before taxes and after gas and maintenance. Uber eats has the potential to be a bit higher if he's tipped well, but even then my average doing this sort of work in my own car was well under $20/hr.

“Oh why don’t you work, like other folks do?

How can I get a job when you’re holding down two?”

“Well why do you work for eight hours or more?

Two of us could have jobs if you only worked four.”

Sleeping for 5 hours a day is going to catch up with this fool. You can do it for a little while, especially when you’re young, but not forever.

... I mean yeah, this sucks, but the only reason stuff like this is sustainable is because he is doing delivery, which means he has control of his music, temp, and can go at a pace that is comfortable to him, without a manager up his ass.

I hate doing this shit, but the whole 'grind' culture bothers me because they arent really 'grinding' most of the time. They aren't doing the tough factory jobs on 12 hour shifts, they aren't pulling third shift retail stints. It's really just them getting by on multiple forms of grift and then being ok that they are getting grifted in return. It's bragging about hustling while getting hustled.

I mean that's fair, but having worked both types of jobs, there is a world of difference between a 12 hour factory grind and a 12 hour delivery grind. Neither of them is fun, but only one of them truly 'grinds' you in a way that is physically unsustainable. I've never met a sustainable 'rise and grind' type person on a 12 or on third shift, though I'm sure they probably exist elsewhere.

When I say grifting, I mean working for these app companies, none of which post any actual profits.

Dude needs to cut at least 6 of those hours out, unless absolutely needed. That will drive someone nuts, hope this dude is okay.
