  • Definitely do it. Education is important regardless of what you see yourself doing with your life. Obviously you don't need to pay to learn stuff, but good programs/professors can seriously broaden your perspective forever. Plus you're going to meet tons of people along the way.

Don't get me wrong, your time and money would be equally well-spent just buying a one way ticket out of the country and backpacking around for as long as you can. These also aren't mutually exclusive.

Money stops a lot of people from doing shit they really, really wanna do. Experiences are priceless and money isn't fucking real, anyway.

  • I think the biggest and most insane take away from this is that Osama Bin Laden actually had an incredibly liberal-pilled view. This is a fucking fascinating read.

There's hard-hitting materialism, there's obvious antisemtism and purely religious criticisms, but it's all couched in a weirdly liberal view of american instutitions, consent of the governed, even a seemingly tacit endorsement of free market economies, etc. I'm having trouble telling how much of that he actually believed, or if it was all meant as a kind of rhetorical trick to basically say to the US, "by YOUR logic..."

  • Personally, what motivates me is knowing that as long as I'm alive, the proletarian vanguard has +1 comrade, and I don't want to go without making a difference. Use the time you have to put your back into the things you think are worth fighting for. Don't be complacent; don't fall into the trap of thinking it's meaningless, for naught, or that your decisions amount to nothing. There are people who seriously would love to know you, and people who need your help. Every second you spend thinking about death is a waste of your time, so don't get caught up in it. It's an inevitability not worth thinking about. And try to find some comfort in the fact that literally every other organism that has ever lived crossed that same threshold.

Tl;dr - focus on the present moment and don't let it go to waste. When you're really in despair, try to draw attention to the pure phenomonology of being, the feeling of breathing, the reflection of light off the wet pavement; bring yourself back to the world, and then remember... there's much yet to do.
