  • I think it's considered a microaggression when it's used by less-than-well-meaning libs (often parents of trans teens who don't respect their child's chosen pronouns) who think nobody will notice they've "beat the system" avoiding misgendering by they/theming. There's also a contingent of the trans community that prefer strict adherence for themselves to the gender binary and are rather sensitive when it comes to discussions of being non-binary or "dismantling the gender binary". Because of these factors, and more, some people outright reject they/them as general all-purpose pronouns, especially so if their preferred pronouns were previously listed/discussed/etc

Edit: I've heard weaponizing they/them is more of a thing on TERF island but I don't know enough to speak on that

Whenever someone asks which games would make a good TV/movie adaptation, Second Sight immediately comes to mind for me. It's not the most groundbreaking story, but for video games it kind of is lol

  • Ideally one would refer to other users as user/poster/comrade, imo. But a lot of people on the internet end up using he/him pronouns for any unknown person. This usually prevents that.

It's also a nice little reminder that there's a real person behind that username you're engaging with.

But an unnamed source from the Trump administration insisted to Bloomberg in that same article that it wasn’t a big deal.

“One top national security official from the administration of former President Donald Trump said none of the Chinese spy balloons were near sensitive sites or had payloads as large as this one appears to carry,” Bloomberg continued.

And if you can’t trust an unnamed official who worked for Trump, who can you trust, right?

Forbes coming in with the hard-hitting journalism :so-true:

it’s a serious blind spot in your worldview that will harm others if ever implemented. I hope you’re not okay with that.

This is a very bad faith argument towards the other poster and I think you should consider against using it in the future :rat-salute:

I played this game non-stop for months until I reliably could play Hazard 5 all the time. But greenbeards who don't know the difficulty system constantly try to join Haz 4 (and sometimes end up in Haz 5 before they're ready) and I could only carry them so far. It ruined a lot of matches and I stopped playing for a while. Still waiting for the day they let us add some kind of restriction to our games besides mods.
