It's summer, long days for reading cool books.
(If you're reading theory, maybe also hit us up with a cool quote you've read lately if there's something poetic that sticks out!)

This is on my list, thinking of ordering it before the end of the year.
Did you see Iskra is publishing a new translation of Stalin: History and Critique of a Black Legend directly from Italian?
Heard of it??!! The woman at the bookstore gave me a look and didn’t know what to say when she saw the title!
Lol in all seriousness I can’t wait until it comes in. It’s going to be so difficult finishing Liberalism once I’ve got the Stalin book. There’s a chapter from it that Roderic Day put up on RedSails, but that’s from the older unauthorized English translation. The chapter is about Krushchev’s Secret Speech; I’d recommend that if you can’t get your hands on a copy any time soon!
Yeah I've been waiting to do a deep dive on Losurdo when more of his stuff gets translated, I'm waiting for the Western Marxism one mostly. Out of the ones already translated, Liberalism: A Counter-History seems like the best.
On the Losurdo/Stalin ep of Guerrilla History with the translators they talk about how his approach to the Liberalism book is very similar to the Stalin book and that they're very good companion pieces.
That's fair, it's got me checking out Duolingo to learn some rudimentary Italian hahaha (in addition to my desire to learn Spanish and Russian lmao). I've got a couple PDFs of his other stuff, Class Conflict and War and Revolution, but Liberalism is the first I've really dived into. His thinking is incredibly sharp and I think a lot of western leftists would really benefit from his stuff.
Yeah! I've listened to that episode. Really good stuff. I hope Henry and Salvatore translate some of his other stuff, the reception to the Stalin book seems pretty good so far.
