I prefer top roping but boulder the vast majority of the time. What type (bouldering and the first question) do you prefer? I love dynamic and balance-y slab climbs.

Oooh so I need to get better at slab climbs. I really just started though like last month for real. I actually haven't even tried top roping yet haha.

I guess so far I like climbs that overhang actually I have a lot of upper body strength and kinda like testing it. Otherwise idk, I'm still learning. Stuff that requires me to think about where I'm putting my weight in fun too. Like climbs that require me to kinda hang my weight in tricky ways. I really like the problem solving aspect of bouldering though it's quite fun

I’ve been climbing frequently for a year and my upper body strength is not great. I also have a kind of spray and pray attitude that makes me just want to do things and not think about them especially in climbing. It’s still fun to figure stuff out sometimes. It’s not like I don’t try things that don’t naturally come to me, I actually try harder than most people for better or worse, and just don’t have the advantage of multiple years of practice.

I'm def kinda lucky that I spent like half my life building up my upper and lower body strength. Probably if I was still on testosterone I could just campus up a bunch of climbs cause that's just like where I was at. Makes progression really fast but I'm quickly getting stuck at V3's.

My process is to try it, see where I get stuck, then come down and do some thinking. Try again, and see where I get stuck. I find it to be a lot of fun. I just started in earnest last month (I've climbed like a handful of times over my life before last month)

Yeah, my leg strength’s always been pretty good. My arms are strong but not enough proportionally for campusing. It really depends on the style. Too many crimps or overhang and I can’t do a v3. My style and I can do v6 easy sometimes. My process is pretty much just constantly climbing til I’m really tired. ADHD relentless effort.
