Xenia, the fox girl mascot of Linux, was first designed in 1996 by Alan Mackey. She was meant to be an alternative to Tux, the official mascot.
She had fallen into obscurity, but was noticed by a Twitter user in 2019 and was redrawn as a fox girl. But as it turned out, Xenia was originally meant to be male! The original creator, Alan, was cool with this, saying "It matches the transition of a lot of the smartest, nerdiest Linux users I know" and "And sure, you made her trans!".
So now we have a trans Linux mascot. And I think that's neat.

Yeah I think me too? 2024 has been a really long year for me, but I'm still surprised its ending already.
I always thought that it was the ever increasing responsibilities that made time move faster when people would say the same to me, but im not sure thats true because I'm a full adult (no kids tho) and I dont feel its going fast this year at least. I mostly find myself bored easily so I'm constantly looking for new things, and I think thats a factor.
Its a relief to me when things feel slow, I want to get the most out of my time here and I'd hate to blink and miss it.
