That's right folks the year is drawing to a close so it's time to rehash last year's bit, nominate, and vote for your 2024 Hexies! These are the Hexbears you think exemplify what it means to be a real Hexbear
Here's how it works:
-
Pick from the below categories
-
Nominate someone for that category by tagging them
-
If you are nominated respond to the nomination to accept it
-
Most upbeared accepted nomination in each category wins!
What do you win? The esteem of your fellow Hexbearian comrades of course. What more could you want?
The categories for this year's 2024 Hexie awards are:
-
Best Effortposter of 2024
-
Most likely to be called a tankie on a blocked instance
-
Most comradely Hexbear
This year we have a special bonus category to commemorate some of the new comms we added:
- Best bad poster (this is not the worst poster, this is the best poster that is bad at posting)
We got a lot of new posters this year and have a lot of great comrades visiting from federated instances, feel free to participate too! We love all of our great posters, don't we folks?
Alright comrades that's it from me, be sure and do your democratic duty and for your 2024 Hexie winners and congrats in advance to the winners of this highly coveted and prestigious award!
And for one small trip down memory lane, here's last year's Hexies! https://hexbear.net/post/1477104
spoiler
This bit was fun last year so I hope folks enjoy doing this bit again this year too, as a bit though
I nominate @Erika3sis@hexbear.net for her language posts, very high level stuff way over my smol peanut head.
I nominate @Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net for their posting in the news mega which would get anyone called a tankie.
I nominate @Kolibri@hexbear.net for chatting with me on element.
Goes to the people's champ @Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net for the best bad posts.
I know this is supposed to uplift me and thank you very much
but obviously I think there are better posters in the news thread comm. (What did I post to deserve this?)
Here are my nominations if you're going to choose one from news megathread, as one of the best effortposters:
@xiaohongshu@hexbear.net, @Z_Poster365@hexbear.net , @MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net , @Redcuban1959@hexbear.net, @bbnh69420@hexbear.net
I got a phantom tag so I choose to imagine a nomination 🙏 I accept the award for best Telegram reposter because these comrades deserve the Effort award
@xiaohongshu@hexbear.net for obvious reasons, @Z_Poster365@hexbear.net for keeping up the fight against liberalism , @MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net for the technical effort posts, and @Redcuban1959@hexbear.net for being the only news head also on the LatAm beat
I lurk the news mega sometimes and I enjoy your posts so it popped into my head to be fair.
You know, I never really thought of myself as an effortposter or a tankie, I'm actually seriously kinda lib, not in my politics but I suppose in my behavior, compared to others on this platform
You know, I feel the type to kinda
Plus, I don't really like to go on long struggle seshs and all
That being said, I guess if someone's anti-communist, I'd step up to be the response against them
I think you would get a lot out of Liu Shaoqi's How to be a Good Communist. It's easy to take Mao's meaning to dogmatism and endlessly debatebro, but that's not what he means exactly. Shaoqi frames it in a way that means you shouldn't struggle for the struggle, especially if it is meaningless, but to be firm yet gentle for those who mean well and are willing to listen. Struggle sessions can be very useful if they are a matter of principles, and thus cannot be avoided, but aren't always productive if they aren't about principles.
Seconding Liu's work. Good read.
Yep! It really helped me reframe how I interact with others.
Which one in particular? I think I spread some info regarding Jimmy Carter
Yeah that's it!
The missile posting will continue until the media can clearly define what a hypersonic weapon is. So forever I guess...
I accept if it means I can make worst posts in the future.
Here's to 2025
Some good posters in here for sure
thanks! it was surprising to see this.
Thanks for the nomnom though
