Honestly this is kind of downplaying the extent to which France is fucking over Northern and Western Africa.
Over 200 million people in 14 African nations have their entire economic policy run from Paris to the benefit of Paris. They're forced to keep a minimum of 50% of their foreign assets in French treasuries, conduct the vast majority of their international trade (like 75+%) through France and pay an annual tribute to France of an amount decided by France under the guise of an unrepayable debt France has decided they owe for infrastructure built while they were French colonies.
Despite unanimous diplomatic attempts to end this arrangement from all 14 nations none have succeeded, and 2 are in a state of civil war where christian, islamic, tribal and communist militias are for the most part making common cause in trying to end the French occupation and are being opposed by their own puppet governments, France, NATO and the UN.
Amerikkka bad and all but contrary to the way this map's presenting things in Northern and Western Africa is far more a of a French occupied territory than a US one.

France made it law to require high school teachers to teach "positive values" of African colonialism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_law_on_colonialism
But nominally they are independent, so libchuds have plausible deniability to claim these countries' problems are of their own making, and use the state of these countries to push racist bullshit of varying openness.
This is why the only proper way to decolonize is through armed struggle until all settlers are driven into the sea.
Algeria did nothing wrong.

which ones are those?
I was talking about Mali and the Central African Republic.
Mainly the Central African Republic with the making common cause.
“China is taking over Africa” the west has cried for the past two decades
Notice that they don't differentiate between military bases/outposts and owning a port. It's all just "presence". China just owns some ports.
This is actually wrong. The Chinese operate a naval base in Djibouti. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_People's_Liberation_Army_Support_Base_in_Djibouti
Tiny country without any natural resources, agriculture or industry, situated in a very geostrategically important location, that rents out military bases to foreign powers to pay the bills.
Literally the majority of the countries gdp comes from the foreign military bases
It is a UN peace keeping mission. I don’t know much about because when you look it up every article is about how Xi is the second coming of Leopoldo II
It's out of coincidence that when there are military bases there are instability. Isn't it?
I'm surprised Egypt doesn't have any kind of foreign military presence. Happily surprised, though. يلا يا مصر
Just a cursory search and apparently that's a longstanding deal for them, always resisting foreign bases under any circumstances. Based af
I thought that was the Palestinian flag instead of the UAE for a second there.
