So sexual pathology is a mental illness where you feel intense sexual attraction to generally weird and sometimes nonsexual things.

“All politics is sexual pathology” is a tongue in cheek analysis of how peoples’ relationship to politics funnily have a sexual connection. Think Ben Shapiro and AOC’s feet, the sexualization of Biden by liberals and Trump by conservatives, or how the fascist’s desire for an authoritarian government is really just their desire to be dommed by the state.

It’s a joke and hyperbolic for the sake of comedy, but it still exists. We use it to dunk on conservatives, but I think it even happens for leftists. Communists have made Lenin fancams, there’s that picture of hot Stalin, and I personally think being a communist is an attractive trait in a partner.

This. It's not enough to be engaged with politics for some people. They need to turn it all into Freudian sexual fantasies.

This also includes things Ben Garrison getting horny for anyone and everyone.

We can gladly acknowledge Stalin's role in defeating Fascism and such, though your joke is more /r/redscare :reddit-logo: material. Stalin was patriarchial in his individual sphere and not the feminist ideal the soviet union could've been, even when the material conditions after 1917 were much better for women than before.

I heard his wife committed suicide and stuff but I haven't heard about him actual beating anyone, although maybe it's just inferred? People can make up almost anything about Stalin and have it passed off as historical "common sense". A lot of these claims about him have very few actual accounts or primary document type material. For example, we know he was homophobic because there was a communique where he basically stated as much. Is there anything similar in terms of his relationship to family or any other hints? Perhaps his wife committing suicide is a big enough tell though either way.

He was pretty abusive to his sons. Stalin was a very good economist and ran the country well but on a personal level he was not nice which doesn't make him wrong about managing the economy or state.

Stalin really does not seem like a "nice guy" at all by all impressions I get. Lenin and many other Bolsheviks as well. It's a big reason that they were such effective politicians, but it's definitely a two edged sword.

It's not that surprising tbh he had an abusive father, came from a cultural background where that was common etc... it's like how there was prejudice in soviet Russia against homosexuals and Roma because they were both part of the cultural background where that was common.

This is a fairly objective, universal truth.

Has Ben Shapiro actually said anything about AOC's feet? I thought that was a bit because he wanted to debate her so bad.

It's basically a joke, but the gist is that people are acting out their suppressed sexual fantasies in the political arena. The classic example is anti-abortion/anti-contraception/abstinence-only sex ed people being butthurt that other people are getting laid while they can't, so they want everyone to suffer. It's a really dumb philosophy, but it pops up again and again, like when Sean Hannity says if the government is going to pay for contraception, he deserves to see the sex tape.

No it's the idea that God hates sex and therefore punishes women with children. it's worth noting here that the Bible went out of it's way to specify that Moses never suffered erectile disfunction so it's some sketchy theology

Freud is in many ways as important as Marx or Darwin. He saw our neuroses and anxieties as stemming from our suppressed unconscious traumas and fixations. So it's logical that reactionaries would be horny for cuck porn and "big black cocks" because their bigotry has an unconscious attraction as well

It means I read a lot of critical theory at one point in my life, became a corporate drone, and now I post this "all politics is sexual pathology" because I used to feel smart. Now my brain is heading towards atrophy at an exponential rate.

The United States populace is so sexually repressed and tries so hard to push down any nascent sexual feelings, that they get warped and twisted into whatever other obsessions they have. If they’re into politics it comes out in politics, like obsession with aoc feet pics. If they feel threatened by black people, they imagine big black cocks and getting cuckolded by a black man. They imagine trump as a himbo. They imagine Biden as a gentle daddy.

The question at the heart of Reich's book was this: why did the masses turn to authoritarianism even though it is clearly against their interests?

labor aristocrats denying historical material conditions in favor of inner psychological idealism, typical PMC radlib!

Check out the actual book. Reich quotes Marx throughout and clearly has a dialectical understanding of the issue. Sexual pathology is intensified by capitalism and vice versa in countless ways. Also, the PMC radlib shrinks all of us hate likewise despise Reich because the dude was a member of the KDP.

The bourgeois sees his wife as a mere instrument of production. He hears that the instruments of production are to be exploited in common, and, naturally, can come to no other conclusion than that the lot of being common to all will likewise fall to the women.

He has not even a suspicion that the real point aimed at is to do away with the status of women as mere instruments of production.

For the rest, nothing is more ridiculous than the virtuous indignation of our bourgeois at the community of women which, they pretend, is to be openly and officially established by the Communists. The Communists have no need to introduce community of women; it has existed almost from time immemorial.

Our bourgeois, not content with having wives and daughters of their proletarians at their disposal, not to speak of common prostitutes, take the greatest pleasure in seducing each other’s wives.

Bourgeois marriage is, in reality, a system of wives in common and thus, at the most, what the Communists might possibly be reproached with is that they desire to introduce, in substitution for a hypocritically concealed, an openly legalised community of women. For the rest, it is self-evident that the abolition of the present system of production must bring with it the abolition of the community of women springing from that system, i.e., of prostitution both public and private.
