They also sicced the armed guards on him after he was on the ground.

Oh god oh fuck, what will this big chain do if they lose the 40 dollar bottle of wine (which got smashed when they tackled him anyway)?

4.I have been fetishizing violence and dreaming about getting my own opportunity to hurt somebody guilt free for my entire life, he's just lucky I'm not carrying a gun.

I'm not joking, a cheer went up when they came back. Probably the result of whatever creepy training shit. Either that or they were just looking for an excuse to beat up a minority.

If it's not because the employee just wanted an excuse to assault a minority or just believes minor criminals should be stopped at all costs and with any force necessary, they're probably the type of person who fantasizes about a shooter attacking someplace they're at, or something like that, so they can be the hero and this minor theft is perhaps the closest they will ever come to that.

In all fairness, it could be a combination of three, these characteristics often overlap in people.

I've seen this shit firsthand as a cashier, too. I think they just wanna feel like action heroes, it's messed up.

Social indoctrination about how the world is locked in an eternal battle of rule-abiding good guys vs evil irredeemable criminals. Thin blue line thinking goes way beyond cops and their simps.

I had some hero manager chase me almost to my house. I was shopping stolen groceries at him, they for sure have a no chase policy.

I chased a shoplifter once. He out ran me of course, and security got stuck behind me. Tragic.

Clearly the cahier in this case just was happy to find a way to express his alienatiom through violence
