Its great folks.
Its a sci-fi ish action ish movie that is explicitly leftist. Very fun (with some sad parts). Best movie I have watched in a long time. Seyfried kills it IMO.
yeah, that's a cool movie. it is really tricky to find sometimes, and it feels like it didn't get a big release and didn't get a lot of critical love. rarely have i recommended it to someone who has already heard of it, let alone seen it.
it's hard to know if that's because of its merits or if it was wake turbulence from Lord of War, itself a great flick that MIC-loving hollywood studio system did not want.
In Time is so in-your-face especially for the mass media capital formations, which broker youth/beauty/celebrity.
After I finished it I was curious and looked at the reviews - they're pretty hilarious. Noah Berlatsky who has taken some shots at Chapo was one of the top reviews on Rotten Tomatoes lol. He did not seem to care for it.
I liked the concept but some of it felt a bit predictable and heavy handed. I couldn't take the part where he's racing to give his mother some time seriously at all.
Might just be because I'm a high anxiety person but the time gimmick had me sweating throughout the whole movie p much.
This is a pretty funny review of that guy's crappy essays.
It was very formulaic, very white-bread, and it leaned way too hard on the ticking time-bomb mechanic to juice up the stakes from scene to scene.
Elysium did this better. District 9 did it way better. If nothing else, the artistry of filming and acting just wasn't there. It was a mid movie, even before you get into the politics.
It feels like it could've been executed better, a bit like Elysium, it starts with a great premise and displays eloquently how capitalism is fucked but just soon gets very.. generic action moviey.
However, I still have a soft spot in the heart for that movie, I recommend it to people and it is fun.
Checked it out last night, definitely up my alley thanks for the rec
