I think the comparison to the Beer Hall Putsch is flawed, the beer hall thing was a seriously planned in advance coup attempt, Jan 6th was essentially Trump going "Folks wouldnt it be kinda cool if I kept being president" and a bucnh of reactionaries took that as a sign to riot with no real goal in sight, some wanted to try and take power but there was also literal grannies and grandpas or that one dumbass who just came there to steal a podium, like come on.

iirc, January 6 was broadcasted as some kind of bigger thing than just a rally. Like I explicitly remember knowing that some shit was going to go down on the 6th, and that's why it's so egregious when law enforcement acts like they were caught off-guard.

Yeah, the Beer Hall Putsch had like 10000 armed people ready to go. And it wasn't even the biggest right wing revolt of that year.

a speed bump is a minor, temporary inconvenience that does not stop one from carrying on to ones destination

At best, Biden is a yield sign but it’s obscured by trees and trimming them would be too much of a strain of the deficit.

I would say more like a speed limit change sign but you only have to slow down five miles per hour seeing as pretty much every red state is still passing every piece of fascist legislation they can with Biden not blinking an eye

I have so much disdain for 'intellectuals' whose entire work center around making a bunch of Zeno's paradox arguments about "how close is the US to being a fascist empire?"

Fuck Benjamin Carter Hett for selling views with this crap. Fuck Salon for trying to reduce fascism to just a consequence of "Orange Man Bad." Fuck the ancap LA Times.

more like a small crack. Somewhat irritating, but easily overcomed
