It can't be worse than mine :kaneki: my father is part of a clan who spent much of history raiding and enslaving the southern ethnic groups of my country. Got nothing to show for it either, just a shitty political elite in some French client state. Don't even get to keep the ruins of the old kingdoms they helped build :frothingfash: they're eroding in the desert and nobody gives a shit!

its kinda based. one of my ancestors followed Jan Hus and fought in the Hussite Wars vs the Catholic church. my great grandparents made bombs for the resistance against nazis, tho they were libs. their kids ended up being commies tho. on my hussite ancestor, they were a taborite, they believed all land should be held in common and all churches should be raised to the ground :sicko-laser:

Nothing but farm hands, lumberjacks and miners living in approximately the same area up until the last two generations. The most exciting thing in my family history is that someone deserted the army about 400 years ago.

Made my family members so mad after they researched it. Not even any people that emigrated to the Americas.

Cool enough that I can't mention any of the real Cool Shit. I can say this though, one of my ancestors killed a whole lot of confederates. Sadly another one did critical research that led to the development of modern ICBMs for the US so, mixed bag I guess lol.

IDK about my dad's side but I posted an old photo of my great-grandpa for reddit to identify, and he was apparently a war hero (for the good guys!)

    https://www.reddit.com/r/OldSchoolCool/comments/34izms/my_moms_grandpa_a_russian_wwii_vet_anyone_wanna/

Edit: my dad was the lead singer in the scene of Russians singing in Air Force One for which he still gets royalty checks of like 1 or 2 cents every few months lmao

Edit 2: he's not on imdb though, I guess cause he was just part of a choir (which apparently included/consisted of everyone at the IT office he worked in, cause they were all recent Russian expats lol)

Supposedly my grand grand dad was a noble that fled Russia during the revolution. I also have a priest in my lineage and a merchant, who bribed the ottoman authorities so that his son doesn't serve in the army. On the other hand one of my grandma's was a conwoman.
