woke DSA comrades: "noooo, I'm not a settler anymore!!!! indigenous people have already been genocided so I'm innocent little baby who you must respect". I always hear these hipsters say their finance imperialist hive is innocent, but I have never once heard them demand for the recognition of indigenous treaties. Worthless opportunists are slime clinging to the sewer of the empire

Sean's take on the article was stupid, but his position on Israel-Palestine is not the same as Aimee's. They've talked positively about the need for Palestinian resistance on the show.

Leftcoms are like 80% good and then 20% willing to go to the mat over saying dumb shit, like "Palestine actually has a bourgeoise."

Doesn't a Palestinian general strike kind of undermine the 'no working class support'

As if Palestinians actually love Hamas because of its bourgeois Iranian backing as opposed to, I dunno, being the only people able to keep the power on for a fraction of the time.

NO Palestinians only love Hamas cause they have Arab-lizard brain that makes them fall in love with anyone who praises Allah three times..............yes I'm a "communist" with a concrete material analysis of the region, why do you ask

The left should ask themselves what promoting ‘national liberation’ would mean in concrete practice: telling young unemployed men to go on suicide missions in service of the struggle for the ‘Arab people, because in the end ‘you can’t fight tanks with stones?’ Cheering for a party like Hamas as it shells over 3000 Scud missiles? Entering an alliance with murderous bourgeois regimes like Iran, because it’s the ‘lesser evil’ and ‘national liberation’ needs material resources?

:yes-chad: yes the American Empire and it's puppets must be destroyed.

Though actually this is the most useless, infantile whineing. Totally on point for a leftcom of course. I suppose what they'd rather happen is for Palestinians to suddenly adopt whatever meme ideology the author believe in (DeLeonism with Arab Characteristics) so the author can finally feel comfortable in their armchair making awful articles about the Middle East no one ever cares about or reads. Leftcoms and being totally ignorant of the material conditions on the ground when criticizing left projects, name a better combo.

It's not, they are explicitly anti-communist. But they're "good" in that they are fighting against colonialism and imperialism, IMO the primary contradiction.

Freeing Palestine is a left project. It not like we are literally giving Hamas weapons (like the IDF did decades ago lol), we aren't that important, we're all just clammering on the internet, in which case Hamas deserves your critical support in their resistance against ethnic cleansing since they are the biggest organization fighting against Israeli colonialism and apartheid. Israel sabotaged the PFLP and Fatah so as to give Palestine a "scary" islamist face with Hamas, so getting all liberal about guerilla fighters resisting their annihilation is literally you falling for an IDF op. Don't worry, Hamas isn't going to form an Islamic Caliphate over Israel and kill all the Jews, they are simply fighting to save their nation and people

The general anti appartheid-colonial-settler liberation movement from the side thats being genocided is, even if it isnt spearheaded by a left org rn ( it has been for large parts of its existance tho)

whining about Hamas without mentioning that Israel backed it specifically to weaken the Palestinean liberation movement is pretty disingenuous

the article's right that Hamas isn't a perfect, unproblematic, proletarian resistance movement, but they're the only real option Gaza has at the moment

        material conditions on the ground

I mean the material conditions on the ground are that Palestine should capitulate because they have been completely defeated and there situation is totally hopeless.

        Shit like

murderous bourgeois regimes like Iran showcases so much inhumanity it is staggering. Leftcoms want people to sacrifice themselves with no actual goal or attempt to win all so that they personally are able to feel bad for those deaths without getting called out for something. Same people who bashed revolutions for getting aid from the USSR and called them inauthentic and puppets. Honestly leftcoms and shining path have a lot in common in that respect. Somehow a general strike is more practical than material conditions and anti-imperial alliances

I used to see this same take from the radlib anarchists and leftcoms on r*ddit. It is 100% a white-hipster-socialist take.

Idk, i think antifada shaun’s take is more “yeah we should support palestinian liberation but be mindful of the issues with national liberation movements in general.”

I get the annoying leftcom-ness of the take, but I really don’t think he’s that much of a fuck.

That article sure is a lot of words just to convince yourself that you have a very sensible ideological reason to not have to give a shit about a genocide.
