Every socialist state has been "liberalizing" its economy in recent decades; a carefully state-controlled private sector can help speed up economic development and eliminate absolute poverty until productive forces are sufficiently developed to allow them to progress to a more advanced stage of socialism. China, Cuba, Vietnam, Nepal, and yeah, the DPRK have all been doing this to some degree. Even the CPP plans to include a stage of capitalist development as part of the development of socialism in the Philippines.

It's literally legal to be gay in DPRK and it's never been illegal. They are materialists, they accept that homosexuality is a natural occurrence as it has been shown scientifically.
