Looks slick. It's got the production values for sure. But does it play like an immersive sim? That's what made SHOC so good. The series strayed away from that as it progressed.

That firefight looked really bad. If he was just standing around in the open like that in the original he'd be dead in seconds.

This looks more like a gameplay concept than a pure gameplay trailer, notice the single button equipping of the G36 and attaching the scope. Probably most of this is made for the trailer.

Gameplay trailers often do this, it's nothing to worry about. They're sometimes basically pre-rendered or they are just trying not to overwhelm audiences with heavy screen movement.

They both have valid points, Freedoms "eh whats the worst that could happen" attitude is super irresponsible tbh.

Freedom: Nato funded mercs trying to stage a color revolution in the fucking zone, put out hits on neutral stalkers, ally with bandits, attack ecologists

Duty: Responsible adults trying to protect the environment, donate all their artefacts to the ecologists, let neutral stalkers chill in their cool rustpunk town.

I was so afraid this was gonna be vaporware and we'd never hear anything from development again, I'm so hype for this :party-cat:

My 1080 will probably handle it just fine, however the 150gb disc space omg. The price we pay for 4K textures?

I've seen this brought up a couple of times regarding modern game sizes and apparently its because since storage is relatively cheap now, studios don't bother to do a lot of compression/optimizing or whatever of their textures and sound files. kinda lame tbh.

the other way around Metro is similar to STALKER, Metro was developed by people that left GSC after the first STALKER came out

Are the Stalkers speaking Ukranian in this trailer? In the original all of them were speaking Russian for some reason.

It would be nice if most Stalkers spoke Ukranian or Belorussian, but some groups spoke Russian, German, English, French, though that might be infeasible for voice actors.

As long as they don't speak english with russian accent like in CS and CoP I'm fine!

But I don't know if they're speaking specifically in Ukrainian or Russian, I can barely distinguish a few words if I'm being honest!

Pretty sure the reason they were speaking Russian was because of marketing purpose (within the former SU) and most Ukrainians have grasp on the language anyway.

I’d absolutely love to see some diversity, since STALKERs come from all over the world to hunt for artifacts. IIRC, there were even American Stalkers in a novel.
