i mean definitionally she was. an egg is just a person who hasn't realized they're trans yet, which means she was an egg her whole life till that point

also, though in this case her pronouns aren't in the image and i didn't link the post because it's a pain to find things on tumblr when they're more than a week old, she does use she/her pronouns (which you could have probably guessed given she says she's transfem) and it is misgendering to use they for her. obviously you had no way to know for sure so i'm not like, mad or anything, just wanted to make that clear

My apologies, I should have guessed she/her if I had thought about it for more than a millisecond. I corrected the comment.

My understanding of 🥚 was also a bit off — probably r/egg_irl memes lol — thanks for the correction

I thought an egg was a person who knows they are trans but won't admit it to themselves. Basically, a trans person in denial

that's a subset of egg, the main meaning i've always heard is someone who just has yet to admit it period regardless of whether they've had any suspicions. a lot of the jokes focus on this type of egg, but certainly not all

This reminds me of when I found an old post on a forum about people's dreams of someone asking what it meant that they had a dream where they're a girl. Then several years later she made a post like "hi i'm a girl now lol"

This look (combined with frizzy hair) is a large chunk of how I can spot transfemmes at a range of >30 meters

My shell didn't crack until I started putting my hair up for work.

At first it was a pony. Then a bun. Then I started accessorizing with scrunchies and ribbons. And then~
