It was a surprise to me when my nerdy white non-athletic ass got through boot and in my first unit seeing how... not GI Joe ... the Army was.

ngl they seem to be having fun lol driving a truck with some pals through some serene vistas? Yeah, I know imperialism bad but on a personal level it is somewhat alluring for some broke idiot like me who wants to get out of the US of A.

The juxtaposition of literal children who've grown up with tiktok and Reddit memes and all that entails being sent to kill and die for empire is a real fucking mood whiplash compared to the film and TV warrior depiction we've been so thoroughly indoctrinated with. Expect to see tiktoks of these kids in some fucked up interaction with Syrian locals any day now

I remember a tik tok or twitter video where every soldier was an 18 year old and how much they fucking regretted believing their recruiter.

If you think about the juxtaposition, it makes things like the October revolution being cheered on by Soldiers so easy to believe.

I like how the one guy is like "I got the job I wanted, unlike everyone else who got fucked." Even he knows what's up and says it. Lends credibility to the whole thing, IMO.

Meanwhile Jeff Bezos just gave Van Jones $100 million dollars for being civil in his critiques.

I feel like this is related to this tik tok vomit somehow.
