Excellent horror movie, very scary. I was less impressed with Midsommar but it was OK too I guess.
I just liked the horrification of Northern Europeans i.e. white religions.
Yeah the only part of Midsommar I found truly horrifying was the, uh, opening scene. You know, with her sister and their parents. The rest of the movie was fucked up, and it was interesting, but it wasn't really scary.
Yo that movie scared the shit out of me. For the first 45min there is a hypno frog drone in the audio that is super anxiety producing. At the last scene I thought there was going to be necrophilia for a sec and almost threw up. I hate it and it stinks.
I loved it. A story about a toxic parent’s impact on a family told as horror? Just take my money.
lol, Hereditary legit scared the fuck out of me. I watched it alone at home, midday, all like "cool, I like freaky movies and I heard this was good." (I live alone and am in my 40s).
I got two hours of "sleep" that night and kept all the lights on at night for the next two nights. my sleep pattern was fucked for a week.

Agreed. Could have saved the demon stuff for a different movie. Also I watched it on cheap night at the theatre and a bunch of kids were there with longboards talking the whole time. Don't think it would have mattered much anyway since the movie was so quiet you could hear what was playing the next theatre over when the kids were t talking.

This isn't the first Hereditary meme I've seen but by God I'm fucking here for it. These crack me up for some reason, I think cause the movie is so heavy.
Hereditary taught me that I love (? feels like too positive a word, but I just find it much more moving) horrific trauma as the backdrop for my horror. Also the whole sequence at the end Jesus.
Midsommar was also good, can't wait to see what he does next.
Can;t take this movie seriously because there's a part towards the start where the boy gets texted "don't forget your dick!" about the party he goes to, and one of the weird cult guys at the end looks like he doesn't have a dick. I'm not good at horror movies, I guess.
